I have a few of Mina Carter's ebooks sitting in my , but never got time to reading them. However, I needed a paranormal romance fix and stumbled upon this book in my , plus it's free!
I really enjoyed this little piece of PNR that Ms. Carter has penned. It's a nice and sexy read that you'll devour in an hour or less. I loved the chemistry between Max and Kelli. Despite being apart for 10 years, these two still clearly has the hots for one another. Max was alpha enough without being an jerk and Kelli was easily likeable. Although the plot was a little cliche, I didn't mind it at all. I was entertained all the way through nonetheless.
Sometimes, I just need an easy, sexy and drama free story to get lost into and Mated by Midsummer was that perfect book for me. Now, I'm off to get the rest of this series. Happy reading!
Awww. I really felt for Max in this one. The poor guy unintentionally chases Kelli off with an ill-timed remark and then he spends the next ten years pining for her. Not pining-pining or anything. I mean, he still got things done. He wasn't a a useless blob or anything. More like he couldn't get her out of his head. I just felt for him.
And Kelli. She's all twisted up because there's definite attraction on her part, she just doesn't want to acknowledge it. Because of that ill-timed comment.
I liked that Max gave Kelli every chance to come to terms with them. He might be a pushy alpha, but he didn't want her coming to him because she felt she had no other choice. So he bided his time. Until he didn't.

I read this book originally as part of a box set and absolutely loved the whole idea. More recently, learning that the author is releasing book 3 in this series, I participated in a read along with other fans of Ms. Carter in anticipation for the new release. Once again I was amazed at how flawless the overall flow of the story was. And I can't express how much it means that the heroine, Kelli was a strong, independent female who wasn't sure exactly what she wanted, but she knew she didn't want someone else making decisions for her, so she left. She returned to Stratton on her terms and decided to accept the Alpha, Max... on her terms.
It was a great story and I would recommend it to anyone who loves books filled with strong characters, some action and loads of romance. Now on to book 2 before the release of the third book in the series!
Ten years ago wolf shifter Kelli Copeland left home after finding out new pack alpha Max Daniels planned to mate with her. Kelli has not been back since but now her brothers wedding is on the horizon and she is back. She figured Max would be married by now with a bunch of mini Max's but she couldn't be more wrong. Max has been waiting for Kelli to come back and he plans to mate with her, he just needs to get her to understand he is everything she needs and more.
Fun quicky, had romance and action. Wished the story was a bit longer but overall got a full story and the chemistry was great.

This one had a few editing errors and typos, but nothing that interfered with the flow and enjoyment of the story.
I always enjoy reading Mina Carter's writing. Somehow she can pack more in her shorts than a LOT of authors can do in 400+ page novels.
Filled with action and great characters.
A quick, fun read.

Having a love of shifter novels, I'm always up for reading the next one. Add ones written by Mina and I'm game. When you have an Alpha male, totally obsessed with a female who is also of an Alpha line, sparks are bound to happen. Kelli returns for her brother's wedding, knowing that she will have to face Max after running from him a decade ago. What she forgot, living in the city is that shifters once they find that special someone, it's a done deal. Max and Kelli have all the ingredients for a lasting couple, he's strong, honorable and dedicated to doing what's right,especially when it comes to Kelli. She's independent, kind-hearted and wants to find a mate that both she and her wolf will love. When circumstances force their hand, Kelli learns that her feelings about Max and all that she ran from, may just be what she's been looking for all along. Love, patience and a whole lot of passion. Mina gives you all that and more in a small package, a very good short read.
