This was one of those books that was a big part of my childhood.

Covering probably the greatest era for the strip, it gives you a best-of collection of dailies and Sundays (not in color) for the period of 1959-1967.

Lots of classic story arcs and one-off strips. The great thing about this era was that the early characters like Violet, Patty , Pig-Pen and Shermy were still involved to be joined by the newer (soon to be major) characters like Sally and Peppermint Patty. Frieda also makes her first appearances ..I always found Frieda to be very entertaining.

If you are new to Peanuts buy this book first. Next try to pick up an out of print copy of "Peanuts Classics" which covers the years 1963-1970 and gives you almost all different strips from "Peanuts Treasury" and all the Sundays in color which is a big advantage for "peanuts classics"

Later on you can get "the complete peanuts" books which cover ever year of the 50 year run of the strip.

I love everything about this book.

I had this book years ago, and lost it in a house fire. I am so thrilled to find it again, and look forward to enjoying it and sharing it with my children for years to come! Wonderful collection of Peanuts comics!
My kids are comics fans and I wanted to introduce them to the hey-day of Peanuts. I was thrilled to find this book. It has all the best years without the huge price tag of the new anthologies. We're all enjoying it.
Purchased for a coworker. Arrived quickly.
Received with book in good condition but no paper jacket.
There were a couple of offerings and I thought I had ordered the one with a jacket as pictured.
Original Peanuts. What's not to love? Great anthology, I bought if for my daughter who had no clue about it until she got a part in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. So, to satisfy her sudden fandom of all things Peanuts I got her this book as it's a great intro to the classic strip.
